It was once said that the five founding families of Ipswich possessed a power that so unique that it led them to form a covenant of silence. For 300 years this covenant has kept them safe, allowed them the ability to survive in the mortal world. For as long as know one knew they possessed the art of witchcraft, they would survive.

It was shortly after the debacle that came of the witch-trails that the true essence of the covenant was formed. In keeping their silences the Sons of Ipswich would be ensuring their legacy and survival. For you see each of the eldest male heirs of the founding families were given gifts. At 13 they got their first taste of the power, using it to do whatever they deemed fit. At 18 they would ascend, their witchcraft would become their life, the power would become one thousand times stronger but with consequences. It was addictive and so seductive that it was difficult for some to resist using. For each and every time they used it it would age them, take away bits of their life until there was nothing left.

Everything had been going great for the current Sons, that was until the heir to long thought dead, fifth bloodline made his appearance. It was during this time that lines were drawn and crossed, culminating in a very powerful battle. Two sides faced off, one side fighting to protect everything held dear, the other for more power to feed addiction.

The fight was long and strenuous but in the end the side of good won and evil vanished without a trace. It is now a year later, 2007, and the Sons have carried on with their lives. An old enemy of the past will make an appearance but will he be alone this time?
