dear diary,
i was in school today and i don't know; i just feel as if i'm better than all these girls who think boys actually like them. it's so infuriating and it feels as if i'm not in high school anymore but in middle school all over again. my life is hell, and i don't think it will change. i feel like i could do a lot of things, like kill them all but i'm 17 now and the police will try me as an adult. i don't want to go to jail for their stupidity and my own. on the other hand home life isn't all that great either. mom's going off on heroin again and dad's sleeping with anything that has two legs and has high heels on. i gotta get out. i can't do this anymore.

sincerely,
    lana
p.s. i think it's time
every year it's the same; kids disappear without a trace and the parents are left accountable for their child's actions. but it's come down to the single fact that half a million kids runaway each year and the disappearances have become so frequent, that police figure they're all homeless and will go home on their own terms. but what if they can't go back? what if their own terms means roughing it out in the self proposed real world? even if it means living elsewhere.

that's where miss clarissa marie evrard comes in. she is one of the few in the world to expand her home to these runaways; kids needing to escape from abuse and mistreatment or chased from their homes because of sexuality and differing lifestyles. the evrard home in oxnard, california serves as their haven; their great escape coming to an end. clarissa will become your family; your only family. but if you make one mistake it will cost you everything you've wanted, including getting away from your past.

welcome to evrard home.
and remember being a runaway comes at a cost.
the cost is remembrance.
prepare to be forgotten.
and one last thing
WELCOME HOME.

woot new EVERYTHING. new skin, new banner, and the only important
thing we need now is new MEMBERS! we're having a site wide event that's
coming up on August 23rd, or perhaps earlier. But the site wide event will
be a house fire and it'll be super fun because people will be jumping from
the windows and people will be watching from outside and we'll even if an
emergency account to make it authentic. so come on over to evrard home!
we'd love to have a bunch of people participate in the house fire to make it
a lot more fun! we have new open canons and our activity check is over and
done. we're very active, we've been open for 4 almost 5 months. and we'll
keep going strong. we need more of everything. we mostly need adults
though. anyways, come join us!

lulupowahh - September 12, 2009 10:24 PM (GMT)
*update 6
------
woot new EVERYTHING. new skin, new banner. we're holding off the house fire, until
we can get up and active again and when everyone is probably on vacation. so, yeah
the house fire is post poned but we have plenty of other things to do. there's always
the games and there are plenty of people willing to roleplay. we do have an application
still, but we will give you a longer time to fill it out since it's school and school is
first priority for some. we'd love to have new members! we really would, especially
since we really really want to keep evrard home active. us admins are really determined
to keep it open for the long haul. so, come join us, check us out and if you have any
questions feel free to ask them in the c-box or pm on here. we've got plenty of canons
to choose from. we still need ADULTS & FRESHMEN! we don't have a ban on anything
but those are the suggested groups to go for. there's always room for new subplots
and one will come along once the house fire is started up.

p.s. we hit 6 months on september 19.

QUOTE

Dear Clarissa,
You might find this hard to believe. Even harder to understand, but just know this, I don't intend to hurt anyone; I really don't want to hurt anyone, but I think it's necessary to prove my point. Trust me when I say I'm scared, but I'm very ambivalent about being here in this home. I feel as if I've done something wrong. Everyone looks at me like I'm some sort of kids that's going to spazz out. They keep away from me. And you wanna know the strange thing? Since I've gotten here, I've been the odd one out,and that's how it was on the street. You'd think being surrounded by kids that have had the same struggles would bring us all together, but no...I'm still on the sidelines. I'm tired of...everything. I figure, now that I've got my chance, I'll take it. I don't hate this place, I hate the people inside of it. All they do is antagonize me, stare at me, and whisper. It's gone to my fucking head. I swear I'll...I'll...I don't know. I honestly don't know anymore.  I don't even know why I'm writing this to you. TO YOU OF ALL PEOPLE. Help is what I need. Therapy is what I need. That's what they all tell me. Sometimes, I just want the nightmare to end. Sometimes, I want the voices to stop, although I know their my own. I thought things would change for me here, but nothing has. It's time....I was contemplating it, and I didn't want to go through with it, but now....I think it's really time and soon I'll be able to smile. Thank you for your kindness, Ms. Evrard. Halloween, will surely be the best.

Sincerely,
    Yours truly

Nobody saw it coming. Nobody thought it would happen. He was a quiet boy, who went among them like a living statue. He never made eye contact, and scarcely went a second without pulling his glasses up his nose. If he'd have looked up once, people would see how wise he was; for anyone with such startling gray eyes would catch the attention of anyone. Silent, reclusive boy, and nobody treated him differently; besides Clarissa of course. As Clarissa sat reading the letter line for line, she could help but feel a deep revulsion. She had a feeling; she knew what would happen. Then what? Would the kids call this a safe haven? Would they leave? She pondered Halloween, knowing if she planned something fun for the kids, she'd forget about this completely. No, this was just one of Henry's not so happy days. It would pass, but something about the letter lingered.

Soon she found herself outside his door, knocking. Without an invitation, she stepped into the darkly lit room.

"What's going on? This...letter..."

"N-nothing...I was just j-joking around!"

"You don't play around here. Not like this. I've been plenty nice to you. I don't need things like this being sent to me."

"Y-yes, Ms. Evrard."

Something struck a cord in the boys head. It was her job to be nice to him. It was her job, to ensure he got out of this place alive. She was only doing her job. And he was apart of it. Something clicked in his brain, and his mind was made up. He stood from his bed, grabbing the letter from her hands.

"Happy Halloween..."

"But...it's not...?"

A crooked grin spread across his face, and he shrugged. "Might as well say it now. You never know what could happen between now and then."

Speechless. She was speechless, but she wasn't thinking about the letter. It was the last thing on her mind. She was thinking about Halloween. What would happen on Halloween?

"Okay. Well, just behave yourself. I'm letting everyone go trick or treating if they'd like. Feel free to do so." She said curtly. Briskly walking out, she did not catch the last glance he gave her. Those eyes...pure evil.

"Happy...happy fucking Halloween." he whispered under his breath. Nobody knew what he was planning; it would surely blow their minds away. Especially considering Clarissa helped him without knowing it.

REVAMPED WITH NEW PLOT :]

OCTOBER 31, 2009

Marked the day that Evrard Home was no more. Runaways who'd once lived there had found solace in the place they called home. They knew their new home was not there to solve their problems, but only a place that they could live in until they were of age. Everyday the clock would wind forward, eliminating yet another day that they could call Evrard Home their home away from home. Their days are numbered they know that - but they didn't know that Evrard Home would cease to exist so soon. The charcoal-colored ash stained skeleton stood before them all and the only thing they could do was watch; watch as their possessions burned to the ground and became unrecognizable in the ash. Many cried, many were stuck in a daze and many just ran away again.

For two months, Clarissa watched the reminiscence of her mansion being built up again. Still, with a new mansion and everything restored to it's original state, the smell of fire lingered. Everyone wondered who could have done such a thing, but Clarissa didn't have to wonder - she knew, but she said nothing. As far as she was concerned, October 31st never happened: as far as she knew she was just building a bigger and better mansion for runaways.

Evrard Home serves the same purpose: kids needing to escape from abuse and mistreatment or chased from their homes because of sexuality and differing lifestyles still come here. Kids from all walks of life still go out of their way to get to Oxnard, California. Sometimes going to great lengths just to look at the pristine king sized door that awaits them.. Evrard Home serves as their haven; their great escape coming to an end, even if their dwelling will forever be stained with the reminder that some kid was angry enough to burn down their only home. It's time to forget - it's time to be the forgotten youth. But don't get your hopes up:

We don't solve your problems, we give you a home.
welcome to your home sweet home.
