for one year!
Come join us!
Double, double toil and trouble;
Dark omens loom on the horizon. Some say theyfre already here. Since May of 2008, the Wizarding World has suffered its fair share of hardships: two murders at the Battle of Hogwarts memorial, poison finding its way into the veins of important officials, and the most recent assassination of the Head of Magical Law Enforcement!
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
The blood purity group behind these latest terrorist acts is still growing, and the omens donft just affect the wizarding world. At Hogwarts, too, the ambitious new Headmistress is eager to test out her new weapon, even if it means using her students as test subjects. A werewolf is discovered and expelled, bringing the werewolf rights debate to a boiling point. And a professorfs penchant for Ancient Egyptian artifacts could mean danger for them all.
Double, double toil and trouble
Will the Headmistress's weapon be successful, or will it be discovered before fruition? Will the student werewolf support group regain their reputation and put an end to the discrimination of werewolves, or will they unintentionally start a war? What will the future truly hold? No one knows. All they can do is keep their heads held high, eyes forward and a silent prayer on their lips: "Absit Omen: Let there be no evil here."

Update time! We've just finished with the Remembering Day events and we're on to role-playing the aftermath. We're still very active and we always love to see new members. Our member base has been very creative and busy with plots, so if you like what you see and want in on the fun, check us out!

Update time!
Summer in the Wizarding World has been neither lazy or quiet! In June, a Runespoor attacked, crashing through Diagon Alley and leaving chaos in her wake. Students have been busy with their internships while professors have been making their own plans (some more sinister than others). Were also in the middle of our Woodcroft festival, which celebrates the day Hogsmeade was founded!
The school year at Hogwarts will begin September 15 (real time). A new Headmistress is taking the reins and only a few of the castles residents are happy about it. With a last name like Snark, who can blame them!
We have over 30 active members and over 80 characters, so activity is still booming. But were always, always looking for new members!
Some new things:
-New banner at the top
-Members Made of Win
-Recent Daily Prophet articles
-Twitter!

Update! The Hogwarts school year has started with a bang! Two Hufflepuff students were expelled- one, for being a werewolf, and the other, for making a statement about it. Because of her decision to expel these students, the new Headmistress is hated by many and loved by some. Very few feel neutral about her!
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is still stumped by the kidnapping and subsequent discovery of Akiva Katz. The woman was found outside of the Shrieking Shack, wandless, but with a strange marking on her wrist. This suggests a new group is on the rise and out for blood.

Absit Omen has been open for one year! And, we just upgraded to SMF 2.0!
We are super excited! ^_^ Now, we've got SubAccounts (which allows you to switch accounts via a drop down menu instead of logging in and out), Tagging (easy way to group threads), a new banner and skin, and a quick links menu at the top.
Currently, we are in October 2008 of the timeline, so there are lots of plans for the upcoming Halloween and Hogsmeade weekend!

A New Form of Wolfsbane - Wolfsbane 2.0 is being developed and it may not be all its developers hope it'll be
Callout to the WBA - The Wizarding Blood Alliance is, slowly, coming out of the shadows and is on the move
And, for students seeking extracurricular activities, you might want to check out The Herbology Club, The Wizard's Chess Club or the Muggle Appreciation Club.
